“I can do all this through him who gives me strength.” - Philippians 4:13
There are many times in life where we are faced with situations that require us to make difficult decisions, and it isn’t out of the norm to find this occurring more than we would like to admit. It is also important to note that these decisions can vary in terms of importance from person to person. Someone with two toddlers and lack of sleep may view something from a different view than a college student.
I bring this up because decision making is an essential skill in each person's life, whether they realize it or not and we need to ensure that Jesus is at the center of these decisions being made. In a society that is moving at 100 miles per hour and a time where picking up our phone is more likely than our bible, this can be easily forgotten. While this is not intentional, it can occur due to us struggling to give full control to God. This topic is talked about again and again, yet it is the one we struggle with the most. Unfortunately, it is what allows us to build our foundation on Christ.
The strength and trust we need to make a decision can all be found in Jesus. Is a decision truly difficult if you know our savior is guiding it? I challenge each person to take a few moments the next time they are confronted with a fork in the road and trust in Him. Keep in mind that the weight of sin, hardship, and pain has already been beared by Him. Take the leap and take the road most traveled, sharing his praise along the way.
“Be vulnerable. Be dedicated. Be strong.”
